We’re currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a prominent name in Automotive Electrical Engineering, for a Junior Operations Manager (Telematics) to oversee field service operations during twilight hours across the London region.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded and people-focused individual to step into a leadership role supporting a fast-paced engineering team delivering on-bus technology solutions, including CCTV and telematics systems.
The Role:
You will be the key operational contact for a mobile engineering team, ensuring exceptional service delivery and real-time support across customer sites. This role requires a confident leader who can juggle technical oversight, engineer performance, and client satisfaction – all while working flexibly outside of traditional hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily:

  • Oversee field engineers across multiple client locations.
  • Provide immediate technical and logistical support when issues arise.
  • Ensure high standards of engineer conduct, punctuality, and vehicle presentation.
  • Champion health & safety compliance on all active sites.
  • Minimise repeat visits through proactive issue resolution and quality control.
  • Maintain open and responsive communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct site visits pre- and post-installation to assess service quality.

Weekly/Monthly:

  • Conduct audits and engineer assessments against KPIs.
  • Provide feedback, coaching, and performance reviews.
  • Lead training sessions on technology and procedures.
  • Address non-conformance reports (NCRs) and implement process improvements.
  • Support strategy development alongside the senior management team.

Ongoing:

  • Make recommendations on staffing decisions and team structure.
  • Represent field engineers in interdepartmental meetings.
  • Report and escalate technical issues as necessary.
  • Drive quality assurance and continuous improvement.

Ideal Candidate:
Essential:

  • Experience leading or managing field-based engineering teams.
  • Technical knowledge of CCTV, telematics, or automotive electrical systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a calm, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Confident communicator able to engage with engineers and clients alike.
  • Flexible and proactive approach to shift work and reactive challenges.

Desirable:

  • Background in bus, coach, or broader transport technology.
  • Familiarity with systems like Timespace DVRs, Streamax, Robustel routers.
  • Understanding of health & safety in mobile workforces.

We are currently recruiting experienced and self-sufficient Telematics Installers to work on a self-employed basis, focusing on the installation of systems in buses and coaches across the UK.
  
The Role
You will be responsible for the professional installation of telematics and tracking systems in buses and coaches. This role is based on a 4 on / 4 off night shift pattern and requires frequent travel between key locations such as London and Manchester, and across the UK.
  
Requirements
We’re looking for individuals who have:

  • Proven experience with telematics or auto electrical installations (bus/coach experience ideal)
  • reliable van suitable for transporting tools and equipment
  • Full set of tools required for professional installations
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Availability to work nights on a 4 on / 4 off schedule
  • Willingness to travel nationwide
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and represent the client professionally on site

The person will be responsible for overseeing the compliance strategy, leading regulatory engagements, and ensuring the organisation remains fully aligned with FCA regulations, AML directives, and best-in-class governance practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the compliance and AML strategy, ensuring alignment with UK regulatory requirements (FCA, JMLSG, AMLD, etc.).
  • Oversee all aspects of financial crime prevention, including AML, CTF, sanctions screening, KYC/EDD processes, and suspicious activity reporting.
  • Act as SMF16/SMF17 (where applicable), liaising directly with regulators and external bodies.
