An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join a highly innovative engineering and technology business developing advanced solutions for the automotive, electric vehicle, transportation and motorsport sectors.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a modern, purpose-built facility, supporting the manufacture and inspection of high-precision components used within demanding, high-performance industries.
The Role
As a Mechanical Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting precision-engineered components and ensuring they are delivered to specification, on time and to the highest quality standards.
You will utilise a variety of metrology equipment, perform CMM programming and inspection activities, manage non-conformances and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct mechanical inspection activities on precision-engineered components
- Program and operate a Mitutoyo CMM using M Cosmos software
- Interpret and inspect components against engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
- Inspect goods received from suppliers and subcontractors
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and liaise with suppliers
- Prepare documentation and shipments for subcontract operations
- Book stock into internal systems and maintain traceability records
- Utilise a range of metrology equipment, including:
- Micrometers
- Vernier callipers
- Bore and thread micrometers
- Digital height gauges
- DTI clocks
- Shadow graphs
- Thread gauges
- Gauge pins and slips
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality objectives
- Ensure compliance with ISO9001 quality management standards
About You
You’ll have a strong background in mechanical inspection within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment and be comfortable working independently while supporting colleagues and driving best practice.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Inspector, Quality Inspector or CMM Inspector
- Strong manual inspection experience within precision engineering
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Excellent understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Experience programming and operating CMM equipment
- Experience using a broad range of metrology equipment
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good PC skills, including Microsoft Office
- Experience working within ISO9001 quality systems
Desirable Experience
- Experience using Mitutoyo M Cosmos software
- Knowledge of PC-DMIS software
- Understanding of ISO14001 standards
- Experience of anodising and electroplating processes
- Experience within motorsport, automotive, aerospace, defence or high-technology manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of SAGE systems

The Role
As a Test Technician, you will perform and support a variety of electronic testing activities to ensure products are delivered efficiently, accurately and to the highest quality standards.
You’ll work with advanced electronic systems and specialised test equipment while helping to drive continuous improvement initiatives and supporting junior technicians where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electronic testing activities during product manufacturing and development
- Use standard test equipment including oscilloscopes, function generators and multimeters
- Fault-find electronic circuits and assemblies to component level
- Conduct electronics assembly inspections and provide technical support
- Follow and interpret test procedures, processes and technical documentation
- Maintain manufacturing records and full product traceability documentation
- Support and supervise other Test Technicians when required
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency
- Ensure all activities comply with ISO9001 quality management standards
- Support the delivery of products to specification, on time and within cost targets
About You
You’ll have previous experience within an electronics manufacturing, engineering or high-technology environment and be confident working both independently and as part of a team.
Essential Skills & Experience
- ONC, HNC or equivalent qualification in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience as a Test Technician, Electronics Technician, Electronic Test Engineer or Manufacturing Test Technician
- Ability to fault-find electronic circuits to component level
- Experience using electronic bench test equipment
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant IPC standards
- Knowledge of manufacturing quality processes and documentation
- Good attention to detail and excellent time management skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Basic PC and documentation skills
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Desirable Experience
- Experience within the automotive, motorsport, transportation, defence, aerospace or high-performance engineering sectors
- Exposure to electrification technologies, telemetry systems or control systems
- Experience working within an ISO9001-certified manufacturing environment
