Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Design Manager to join our engineering team and play a key role in the successful delivery of HV projects. You will be responsible for managing the technical interface between our in-house design team and external stakeholders, supporting the full lifecycle from design through to project completion.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews (HAZOP, IDR) and ensure design compliance with project requirements
• Manage interfaces with clients, sub-contractors, and construction teams
• Ensure constructability and practical build considerations are integrated into all designs
• Supervise Temporary Works Design and conduct site-based design compliance reviews
• Provide civil engineering design support, including guidance on land consents and surveying
• Support business process development, quality assurance, and continuous improvement

Required Skills & Experience

• Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (Chartered status preferred)
• Significant experience in HV design (11kV–132kV+) and infrastructure delivery
• Demonstrated experience in a Principal Designer role and managing sub-contractors
• Strong understanding of CDM regulations, UK H&S standards, and British/International design codes
• Knowledge of temporary works, civil consents, and design assurance processes
• Proactive, self-motivated, and collaborative approach
