The Role

An established engineering manufacturer operating in the high-precision industrial technology sector is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join its in-house machine shop.
This is a hands-on role focused on prototype and low-volume production, supporting cutting-edge equipment used in advanced industrial applications.
You’ll be responsible for programming, setting, and running CNC machinery while working closely with engineering and design teams to deliver high-quality components to exacting standards.

Key Responsibilities

CNC Programming & Machining

Manufacture prototype and low-volume production components from a range of materials
Program, set, and operate 3- and 4-axis CNC milling machines
Program, set, and operate 2-axis CNC lathes
Experience with Mazak (Mazatrol or ISO) and/or Hurco (WinMax) preferred
Use Hypermill CAD/CAM or similar software
Support new part development from concept through to completion
Liaise with external suppliers when required, including site visits

Quality & Continuous Improvement

Machine components to tight tolerances in line with engineering drawings
Inspect own work using precision measuring equipment
Contribute to process improvements to increase efficiency, tool life, and waste reduction
Work within ISO 9001 quality systems and maintain 5S standards

Experience & Skills

Apprentice-trained machinist or 5+ years’ experience in a precision engineering environment
Strong CNC programming, setting, and operating experience – must be able to create programmes from scratch, and edit others.
Confident interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T
Proactive, self-motivated, and quality-focused
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
