Project Manager – Vehicle Technology & Security Systems
GTS are recruiting for an Operations Project Manager to join a growing engineering and technology-led organisation based in the East Midlands.
The business operates within the vehicle security, surveillance and transport technology sector, delivering:
- Vehicle CCTV and on-board camera systems
- Surveillance and crime prevention technology
- Mobile Digital Video Recorders (MDVR)
- Safety and monitoring systems for public transport fleets
- Engineering installation and nationwide service support
Their clients include transport operators, public sector organisations and specialist fleet providers across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for a structured, commercially aware project manager to coordinate and deliver national engineering projects within a fast-paced technical environment.
The Role
As Operations Project Manager, you will oversee the successful delivery of multiple projects across the UK, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality and compliance standards.
You will work closely with sales, purchasing, warehouse and installation teams to ensure projects are planned, resourced and executed effectively.
Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Coordination
- Develop detailed project plans including scope, deliverables and timelines
- Coordinate project initiation, execution, monitoring and closure
- Break projects into structured tasks with defined timeframes
- Ensure all work meets contractual and operational standards
Engineering & Installation Oversight
- Review survey reports, schematics and bills of materials (BoM)
- Brief installation teams prior to site attendance
- Schedule and occasionally attend project sites
- Ensure documentation is accurate and fully updated
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Act as the primary contact for internal teams and external stakeholders
- Provide regular project updates to clients
- Manage expectations and resolve project-related issues promptly
Budget, Risk & Resource Management
- Monitor budgets and ensure efficient allocation of resources
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Escalate operational concerns where required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven project management experience within engineering, vehicle technology, security systems, transport or similar industries
- Strong knowledge of project management processes and tools
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Experience managing project budgets and resources
Qualifications
- Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- PRINCE2, PMP or similar certification (desirable)
