Technical Buyer – Motorsport Powertrain
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Buyer to join a leading motorsport team based in the heart of Motorsport Valley. This is a rare chance to work at the cutting edge of Formula 1 powertrain development, supporting the delivery of high-performance components for next-generation engine regulations.
This role sits within a state-of-the-art engineering and manufacturing facility, focused on producing world-class F1 power unit components.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Manage the procurement of complex powertrain components, ensuring on-time and cost-effective delivery
• Source precision-engineered parts, materials, and specialist manufacturing services
• Identify and select suppliers, negotiating the best balance of cost, quality, and lead time
• Expedite orders and proactively resolve supply chain challenges and delays
• Analyse supplier capacity and introduce new suppliers to meet programme demands
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships within a high-performance environment
• Support budget planning and cost control across procurement activities
• Act as a key point of contact for technical procurement support within the team
• Drive continuous improvement across procurement and supply chain processes

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Technical Buyer / Senior Buyer / Procurement Engineer within motorsport, Formula 1, aerospace, or high-performance automotive
• Strong background sourcing low-volume, high-complexity mechanical components, ideally for internal combustion engines (ICE)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
• Experience working with precision machining, composites, or advanced manufacturing techniques
• Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong problem-solving ability
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
