GTS have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Inspector to join our F1 client’s Quality Assurance department on a 6-month fixed-term, full-time contract at our clients world-class facility in Northamptonshire. This is your chance to apply your metrology expertise at the very pinnacle of motorsport engineering.
 
Circa £52,000 �� Day Shift | Monday to Friday | 08:30 – 17:30
 
The Role
You’ll play a critical part in ensuring the precision and quality of internally manufactured machined components and associated assemblies. Working cross-functionally with Quality Assurance, Production Control, and the Machine Shop, you’ll uphold and continuously improve the exacting standards that elite-level motorsport demands.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Assure the quality of internally and externally manufactured metallic components to required standards
• Carry out inspection and verification activities using advanced metrology equipment and software
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Production Control, and the Machine Shop to maintain and improve quality standards
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of machining processes, inspection techniques, and quality systems
• Proactively contribute to team and departmental meetings
• Work flexibly and professionally to meet production and quality targets

What We’re Looking For

• Excellent knowledge of machining processes and manufacturing methods
• Proficiency in PC-DMIS and PolyWorks Metrology Suites
• Hands-on experience with CMMs, Absolute Arms, Shadowgraphs, Contour Tracers, and handheld measuring tools
• Confident ability to interpret and work from technical drawings
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, SAP, or similar
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
• Previous experience in a Formula One or high-level motorsport environment is highly desirable
• Ability to perform under pressure with accuracy and composure
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
