An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Honing Machinist to join a world-class engineering and manufacturing business at the forefront of motorsport and high-performance powertrain technology.

The Role
As a CNC Honing Machinist, you will be responsible for carrying out reliable and repeatable cylinder liner honing operations using advanced CNC honing machinery. You’ll ensure components are manufactured to the highest standards while meeting demanding production schedules and exacting engineering specifications.
This role also offers the opportunity to support wider manufacturing and assembly activities as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform precision cylinder liner honing operations using advanced CNC honing machines
- Carry out in-process inspection, sub-assembly and final finishing activities
- Manufacture components in accordance with complex engineering drawings, specifications and process documentation
- Ensure all components meet strict quality standards and identify any deviations from specification
- Work closely with Manufacturing Team Leaders and Production Control to achieve production targets and delivery schedules
- Prioritise workloads to maximise machine utilisation and productivity
- Communicate effectively across manufacturing and engineering departments to ensure smooth transfer of work
- Support continuous improvement activities, including cost reduction and lead-time improvement initiatives
- Liaise with external suppliers regarding CNC honing machine servicing, maintenance and repairs
- Assist wider manufacturing teams with additional assembly and production activities when required
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of five years’ experience within CNC Honing and precision machining environments
- Extensive knowledge of honing theory, processes and machinery
- Experience operating CNC honing machines within a precision engineering environment
- Experience with Sunnen honing equipment would be highly advantageous
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and manufacturing process sheets
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing components to the highest standards
