Engineering Manager – Rail Systems
Location: Dublin – hybrid working, with three days per week on-site
Salary: €90,000–€110,000
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
  
We are recruiting an experienced Engineering Manager to provide technical leadership across a growing portfolio of safety-critical rail projects in Ireland.
Acting as the technical authority for Signalling and Telecommunications, you will shape technical solutions, assure engineering integrity and lead multidisciplinary teams throughout design, installation, testing and commissioning.
This is an excellent opportunity to help develop a growing rail systems capability while working closely with clients, project teams and senior stakeholders.
  
Key responsibilities

  • Act as the technical authority for Signalling and Telecommunications activities.
  • Provide technical direction, challenge and engineering assurance across rail projects.
  • Undertake DPE, CEM or CRE responsibilities where appropriately appointed.
  • Manage systems-safety activities, including CSM-RA, engineering integration, testing and commissioning.
  • Support project planning, design development, methodologies and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure integration, compliance and constructability.
  • Interpret client requirements and develop practical, safe and compliant solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership during installation, testing and commissioning.
  • Support bids, proposals and early-stage project development.
  • Advise on engineering resources, technical capability and delivery strategy.
  • Mentor engineers and promote best practice across the wider team.
  • Ensure decisions prioritise safety, assurance and long-term asset performance.

  
What we’re looking for

  • Significant experience within railway systems engineering.
  • Strong technical expertise in Signalling and/or Telecommunications.
  • Experience operating as a technical authority in a safety-critical environment.
  • Previous DPE, CEM or CRE experience would be highly beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of systems integration, engineering assurance and rail safety requirements.
  • Experience supporting projects through design, installation, testing and commissioning.
  • Confident client-facing communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to lead, influence and mentor engineering teams.
  • Experience presenting technical solutions and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications and professional accreditation are desirable.
