Assembler / Solderer

Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Assembler / PCB Solderer
Location: Harlow
Hourly Rate: £15/hr (PAYE) or £20/hr (Ltd / Umbrella) – role is outside IR35
Duration: 2-3 months
 
 
About the Role

• Assembly of electro-mechanical systems and electronic sub-assemblies
• Hand-solder PCBs to IPC or equivalent standards
• Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings
• Perform basic inspection and rework as required

 
Key Responsibilities

• Through-hole and SMT soldering of components
• Mechanical build of enclosures, harnesses, and fixtures
• Test assemblies and document results
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

 
Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in PCB hand soldering and electro-mechanical assembly
• Ability to read technical drawings and BOMs
• Strong attention to detail and workmanship
• Familiar with ESD-safe practices

 
Preferred Qualifications / Experience

• IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification
• Experience with microscopes and fine-pitch components
• Background in low-volume or prototype builds
• Basic electrical testing knowledge
