Salary: £30,000 – £33,000 per annum
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Paraplanner to join their Technical Support Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their paraplanning expertise within a professional and supportive Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) environment.
The Role The Junior Paraplanner will play a key part in supporting financial advisers, the compliance team, and outsourced paraplanners to ensure the efficient delivery of accurate and compliant financial planning services. You will assist in producing high-quality client documentation, analysing financial data, and contributing to the smooth running of advice processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and administrative support to advisers and the compliance function.
- Prepare and assist with Suitability Reports and client recommendation letters.
- Carry out calculations for Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and investment bond chargeable events.
- Gather, verify, and analyse client information including valuations, policy details, and cashflow reports.
- Liaise with product providers and investment platforms to obtain quotations and valuations.
- Maintain accurate client records in back-office systems (Intelligent Office).
- Ensure all processes adhere to FCA regulations and internal compliance requirements.
- Support the ongoing development and improvement of operational procedures.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in an IFA, wealth management, or financial planning firm is essential.
- Sound knowledge of financial products such as pensions, ISAs, bonds, and protection policies.
- Understanding of FCA regulatory requirements and financial planning compliance.
- Proficiency in financial planning software (e.g. Intelligent Office, Voyant, Dynamic Planner) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Qualifications:
- Certificate in Financial Services or working towards a CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent) is essential.
- Experience with cashflow modelling and Intelligent Office is desirable.
