Overview
Our engineering client is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex engineering projects and business activities securely, competently, and safely. Working collaboratively with multi-disciplined teams, you’ll ensure the successful delivery of projects on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This role is ideal for a technically minded project leader with strong organisational ability, exceptional communication skills, and experience managing engineering programmes in demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the delivery of portfolios or programmes of engineering projects and associated business activities.
• Act as the primary point of contact with internal stakeholders and technical managers.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver defined business benefits.
• Capture and manage project requirements and prepare business case documentation.
• Develop realistic project baselines, identifying assumptions, risks, and dependencies.
• Prepare work breakdown structures, resource estimates, and milestone schedules.
• Monitor project progress, control change, and manage risk effectively.
• Prepare and implement communication plans to ensure smooth project execution.
• Support bid development activities including estimating, planning, and proposal preparation.
• Contribute to advancing project management capability within the organisation.
Essential Skills and Experience
• Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience managing complex technical or engineering projects.
• Strong ability to understand and communicate technical information clearly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• At least 4 years’ experience in project management, ideally in design or manufacturing environments.
• Experience balancing time, quality, and cost while achieving project objectives.
