Mechanical Inspector – Formula 1 – Night Shift

Monday to Thursday 21:00 – 07:30

We are recruiting an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join the night shift Quality team at a Formula 1 operation based in Silverstone, Motorsport Valley.
 
Working independently on nights, you will be responsible for the inspection and verification of precision-machined metallic components and assemblies, ensuring they meet exacting F1 quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

• Inspect internally and externally manufactured machined components
• Carry out dimensional inspection using CMMs and advanced metrology equipment
• Use software such as PC-DMIS and PolyWorks
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Record inspection results and support quality improvements
• Work closely with QA, Production, and Machine Shop teams

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong knowledge of machining processes and manufacturing methods
• Experience with CMMs, Absolute Arms, shadowgraphs, contour tracers, and hand tools
• Proficiency in PC-DMIS and/or PolyWorks
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems (SAP, IFS, or similar)
• Background in Formula 1 or high-level motorsport highly desirable
• Able to work nights accurately in a fast-paced environment
