You’ll lead the design of carbon fibre parts, moulds, jigs, and tools — collaborating across aerodynamic, structural, and manufacturing teams to deliver precision-engineered solutions.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Lead composite design and development for F1 car parts and tooling.
• Ensure designs meet Formula 1 technical regulations and performance goals.
• Work closely with aerodynamics, design, and production teams to optimise weight and performance.
• Oversee design sign-off and support trackside operations when required.
• Mentor junior engineers and share composite best practices.
• Identify opportunities for efficiency and innovation within the design process.
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure material and quality standards are met.

 
Required Skills & Experience

• Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Automotive Engineering (or similar).
• Proven experience in composite design within Formula 1, motorsport, or high-performance automotive.
• Strong understanding of carbon fibre materials, manufacturing methods, and lay-up techniques.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6, Siemens NX, or similar CAD systems.
• Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Adaptable, self-motivated, and able to deliver under tight deadlines.
