About the Role
As a Senior Stress Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all structural car components meet the demanding standards of performance, safety, and reliability required at the highest level of motorsport.
You’ll lead structural analysis projects (both FEA and hand calculations), support design and validation activities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver championship-level results.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural and stress analyses (FEA and hand calculations) from concept through to final release.
  • Prepare and document detailed stress reports and validation records.
  • Support and coordinate other analysts working on related assemblies.
  • Investigate damage and defects, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
  • Monitor in-service behaviour of car parts, supporting trackside validation and testing.
  • Collaborate closely with design, R&D, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust, lightweight solutions.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of stress and sizing methodologies.
  • Provide occasional trackside engineering support during test or race events.

 
What You’ll Bring

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Deep understanding of carbon fibre composites and metal structures.
  • Expertise in FEA theory and practical application.
  • Advanced user of Altair Hypermesh/Optistruct and/or Abaqus.
  • Familiarity with Siemens NX and CNC / DMLS manufacturing processes.
  • Proven F1 or motorsport stress analysis experience at a senior level.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally for race and test events (approx. 1 week per month).
