Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop the back-end and database architecture for a scalable, high-performance system

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong understanding of database architecture and data best practices
  • Degree qualified in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar (Bachelor’s or Master’s)
  • Comfortable working independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Able to manage changing priorities and deliver to project timelines
  • Experience in an SME or tech start-up environment would be a bonus

In this permanent, full-time role, you’ll deliver high-quality maintenance and engineering support, ensuring state-of-the-art machines run efficiently and reliably. You’ll be a key point of contact for the customer, providing both reactive and preventative maintenance while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
What you’ll do:

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on complex machinery
  • Provide first-time fixes and thorough diagnostics on breakdowns
  • Ensure machines meet or exceed performance expectations
  • Build strong daily working relationships with customer contacts

Our client specialise in providing high-quality solutions for HGV’s / LGV’s / Bus and Coach Markets. They work with cutting-edge technology in telematics, safety systems, CCTV, and a wide range of bespoke vehicle solutions, ensuring optimal performance and safety for our clients. They are looking for an experienced Field Engineer to join their team and support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of these systems in the field.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a range of vehicle technologies on-site. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Tracking & Wiring: Conduct installations of basic 3-wire fitments into 12V and 24V systems for a variety of vehicles, including cars, vans (OBD), trucks, and trailers, focusing on plugs and pins.
  • Telematics & CANbus Systems: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot telematics systems, including J1939, J1708 (24V), FMS, and CANcliq systems, ensuring seamless operation.
  • CCTV Systems: Install basic dashcams as well as multi-channel CCTV systems (up to 12 cameras) in vehicles such as trucks, buses, and coaches.
  • Safety Systems: Install and maintain safety systems like DVS (Side Scan, Side Sensors), PSS (AI cameras), ADAS, and breathalock (Alcolock systems requiring starter cuts).
  • Temperature Monitoring: Install and maintain temperature monitoring systems, including Transcan (1 to 12 temp probes), ensuring accurate data transmission to trackers.
  • In-Cab Driver Aids: Set up and wire in-cab devices like tablets, cradles, RAM mounts, and driver monitoring systems to enhance driver performance.
  • Tacho Integration: Perform remote tacho downloads, both direct connect and via telematics systems, to meet compliance and operational requirements.
  • Specialist Connections: Install and maintain Suzi connections for tractors and trailers.
  • Lighting & Beacons: Install lightbars, beacons, and other vehicle lighting solutions for vans, trucks, trailers, and plant machinery.
  • Power Solutions: Install and maintain inverters and other power solutions to ensure proper functionality across various vehicle systems.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: Proven experience working with HGVs, emergency services vehicles, or similar industries. Hands-on experience with electrical wiring, vehicle electronics, and installation of telematics and safety systems is essential.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with 12V and 24V electrical systems, CANbus (J1939, J1708), FMS, and CANcliq. Experience with CCTV systems, temperature monitoring, and safety technologies (e.g., DVS, ADAS) is a plus.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities, especially in a field environment, to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and colleagues, providing clear updates and resolving any issues on-site.
  • Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and stay organized when handling multiple installations and service requests.
  • Vehicle Safety & Compliance: Understanding of safety standards and regulatory requirements, especially in the transportation and emergency services sectors.
  • Driving License: A full UK driving license (or relevant driving license for your location) is required for travel to various client sites.

As a company leading the charge in next-generation infrastructure, they are seeking a skilled Panel Wirer to join their growing production team.
This role involves the assembly, wiring, and testing of electrical control panels used across our innovative EV charging systems. You’ll work alongside engineers and technicians to deliver safe, high-quality electrical assemblies that meet the demands of a fast-paced and evolving sector.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and wire low-voltage control panels to technical specifications
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
  • Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires with precision and to standard
  • Conduct functional testing and fault-finding on panels prior to deployment
  • Support engineers and production teams in developing and improving wiring processes
  • Ensure all work adheres to quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with on-site panel installation and commissioning as needed

Required Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Panel Wirer or in a similar electrical assembly role
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with electrical panel build, wiring, testing, and fault-finding
  • Working knowledge of electrical safety standards and good practices
  • Competent in using hand tools and crimping/termination tools
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to work independently or within a team

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

  • City & Guilds BS7671 (Requirements for Electrical Installations)
  • City & Guilds 2391 (Initial and Periodic Electrical Inspection and Testing)
  • Experience working in the EV charging, power distribution, or automation sectors
