Location: Birmingham
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Our client is seeking an experienced and technically proficient Senior Paraplanner to join their Technical Support Team. This position offers the opportunity to work within a respected Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) firm, providing advanced technical support to advisers and helping to deliver outstanding financial outcomes for clients.
The Role As a Senior Paraplanner, you will play an integral role in supporting advisers with complex research, analysis, and report preparation. You’ll take ownership of the technical aspects of financial planning, ensuring that advice is accurate, compliant, and tailored to each client’s goals. This role is ideal for a confident paraplanner looking to contribute to the success of a collaborative and professional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed research and analysis across a range of financial products including investments, pensions, and protection.
- Prepare comprehensive and compliant Suitability Reports and review documentation.
- Carry out complex calculations, including CGT assessments, investment bond chargeable events, and pension income scenarios.
- Support advisers with lifetime allowance, annual allowance, and drawdown planning.
- Build and maintain cashflow models using financial planning software such as Voyant.
- Collaborate with advisers and administrators to implement recommendations and monitor client portfolios.
- Liaise with product providers to gather data, confirm details, and ensure technical accuracy.
- Maintain accurate and compliant records within Intelligent Office.
- Stay current with regulatory, tax, and market developments to ensure advice remains up to date.
- Support and mentor junior colleagues where appropriate.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a paraplanning or technical role within an IFA or wealth management firm.
- Strong knowledge of pensions, investments, protection products, and taxation.
- Qualified to Level 4 Diploma standard (DipPFS or equivalent) or actively working towards completion.
- Proficiency with financial planning tools and back-office systems (e.g. Intelligent Office, Voyant).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on clarity and accuracy.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and time management abilities.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a busy environment.

Salary: £30,000 – £33,000 per annum
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Paraplanner to join their Technical Support Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their paraplanning expertise within a professional and supportive Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) environment.
The Role The Junior Paraplanner will play a key part in supporting financial advisers, the compliance team, and outsourced paraplanners to ensure the efficient delivery of accurate and compliant financial planning services. You will assist in producing high-quality client documentation, analysing financial data, and contributing to the smooth running of advice processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and administrative support to advisers and the compliance function.
- Prepare and assist with Suitability Reports and client recommendation letters.
- Carry out calculations for Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and investment bond chargeable events.
- Gather, verify, and analyse client information including valuations, policy details, and cashflow reports.
- Liaise with product providers and investment platforms to obtain quotations and valuations.
- Maintain accurate client records in back-office systems (Intelligent Office).
- Ensure all processes adhere to FCA regulations and internal compliance requirements.
- Support the ongoing development and improvement of operational procedures.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in an IFA, wealth management, or financial planning firm is essential.
- Sound knowledge of financial products such as pensions, ISAs, bonds, and protection policies.
- Understanding of FCA regulatory requirements and financial planning compliance.
- Proficiency in financial planning software (e.g. Intelligent Office, Voyant, Dynamic Planner) and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Qualifications:
- Certificate in Financial Services or working towards a CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent) is essential.
- Experience with cashflow modelling and Intelligent Office is desirable.

These are outside IR35 contract roles offering excellent hourly rates and long-term project work with ongoing extensions available.

Composite Laminators
- Layup of pre-preg carbon fibre and other advanced materials
- Work to tight tolerances using detailed engineering drawings and layup manuals
